Entry Requirements
At Prague City University we talk to each applicant on an individual basis to find out what your needs are, and to ensure you are applying to the best choice of programme. Your application is completed online, including the submission of supporting documents. There is no application fee nor entrance examination.
Once your documents have been reviewed and approved by the Admissions Team, you will be invited for a final interview with your Programme Leader. This interview, a crucial part of the admission process for all programmes, is conducted in person at Prague City University for applicants who are able to travel to us; and by Zoom for international applicants.
What you need for your application
If your original documents are not in the English language, we ask you to submit your original diploma and grade transcript accompanied with a notarized English translation.
* Important! For applicants to British-accredited programmes we do not require your documents (high school diploma or Bachelor's degree) to be legalized by the Czech authorities in the process known as nostrification.
** We also accept other internationally-recognized English language certificates. Get in touch with us to verify your score meets the requirements. If you have followed an accredited English language curriculum either at high school or university, you may be exempt from this requirement.
Recognised Diplomas & Degrees
Foundation Programmes
We accept Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge O Level and Cambridge AS Level. We also recognise International Baccalaureate, GED, Pearson, American High School Diploma and Czech leaving certificates (Maturita). Diploma exemptions may applly, please get in touch with the Admissions Team to discuss.
Bachelor’s Programmes
We accept Cambridge A Level, International Baccalaureate, Pearson BTEC, GED, Pearson, American High School Diploma and Czech School leavers certificate (Maturita).
If you do not hold any of the above-mentioned diplomas, then please contact our admissions team to find out if you are eligible to study with us.
Master’s Programmes
To enter our Master's programme you will need a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university and additional supporting documents including a letter of motivation/research proposal or portfolio if required.
Statement on AI for PCU Admissions
AI-based assistance programmes can be powerful and useful tools. We understand their value in helping you generate ideas in order to write your letter of motivation. However, your final submission should always be your own. You should not copy and paste content you did not create directly into any documents as part of your application. As with any collaboration, or other sources of inspiration, if you choose to utilise AI-based assistance while working on your PCU application we encourage you to use it to generate, edit, and refine your ideas only. We appreciate AI could be a helpful collaborator, particularly if you do not have access to other assistance to help you write your letter of motivation, yet it should be used cautiously. At PCU we want to meet you, and hear your story. We look forward to receiving your application and reading your letter written in your own words.
Need preparation?
If you would like to get additional preparation in either language or academic skills before entering Bachelor's level programmes, you can be enrolled in one of our Foundation Diploma programmes: Foundation Diploma in Art, Design & Media Practice or Foundation Diploma in Business.
These programmes are also available for those who would like to complete the last year of their high school education before progressing to a Bachelor's degree programme.
