Czech Lion Visual Identity

Ondřej, along with Jana Krchová who also lectures at PCU, authored the visual identity for the Czech Film and Television Academy’s (ČFTA) annual Czech Lion awards that were held in March, 2023.

Their identity featured a vertical grid that highlighted the contrast between surface and line. As the 30th edition, the number itself was prominently displayed, composed of individual geometric elements to represent the various categories and nominations that make up the awards.

Ondřej, along with Jana Krchová, authored the visual identity for the 30th annual Czech Lion awards.

The visuals appeared online, in printed media and outdoors, and was the recurring theme of the festival event and the live broadcast on Czech Television. In some applications, they incorporated the iconic crystal statue representing the Czech Lion, while the geometric number 30 was creatively rearranged for additional merchandise, including mugs and notepads.

This was the second year in a row that Ondřej and Jana were the co-designers for the awards. The previous year they presented a softer solution featuring a decorative serif font.
