HND Interactive Media 2nd Year Exhibition

by Alex Went, on 24 March 2016 00:00:00 CET

This year's HND Interactive Media students welcome friends, family and guests to Prague College to see their latest work in their 2nd Year Exhibition, Fewturists Futourists in which a group of nine art[o(ur)]ists will be presenting their interactive installations as a result of their two-year experience at Prague College.

"This exhibition blends together various artistic media we came across during our studies in combination with rather distinct interpretations of reality," says one of the curators, Pavlina Libiakova.

The exhibition will take place at Prague College, with a grand opening on 2 June. The public is courteously invited to come at 5pm to enjoy the opening and talk to the artists, enjoy wine and food and interact with the works. After that the works will be on display for three more days until Friday 5 June.

Presented artworks were developed using new technologies with an experimental approach to art, hacked devices, new media, sound and motion picture. Libiakova explains: "The concept of the show is associated with the futuristic mindset we possess and our current status as emerging artists. We are still very raw and undefined. Over a fairly short period of time we came into contact with numerous tools and techniques and have been traversing the expanding universe of media, more as tourists than anything else.”

The interactive art installations will be complemented by a short film by a guest artist, 'Ex-girlfiend', visiting from Arizona, USA.

At the same time, HND Graphic Design and Foundation Diploma students will be presenting their work in the same building one floor above, which will also be freely accessible to the public.

Opening at 5pm on 2 June
