Round table with Miroslav Singer, Governor of the Czech National Bank

Prague College is proud to be sponsoring an important lecture and round-table discussion led by Miroslav Singer, Governor of the Czech National Bank.

The event, hosted by the British Chamber of Commerce, takes place on 15 June at the British Embassy in Prague and will focus on a number of key fiscal topics.

These are expected to include : the monetary policy of the CNB, the macro-economic prospects of the Czech Republic, financial sector regulation, and the position of the Czech Republic in regard to the Euro.

Ing. Miroslav Singer, PhD is a Czech economist and the current Governor of the Czech National Bank. After graduating with a degree in mathematical methods in economics from the University of Economics in Prague (1991), Mr Singer obtained a postgraduate fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, where he completed his thesis and was awarded a PhD in 1995.

He has been a member of the Supervisory Boards/Boards of Directors at various companies in the Czech Republic. In February 2005, he was appointed a member of the Board of the CNB Bank and Vice-Governor. The President appointed him CNB Governor for a term of six years with effect from 1 July 2010.

While serving as Governor he has been awarded the Central Bank Governor of the Year for Emerging Europe 2013 by the Emerging Markets magazine, as well as the accolade of Central Banker of the Year in Europe for 2014.
