Business lecturers get creative with City of Plzen business incubator

DEPO2015 is part of Plzen 2015, an initiative aimed at changing the public perception of Plzen by developing the role of culture in the city. The project includes a specialist incubator for startups and small businesses, and at the end of October our business lecturer Sherrihan Radi will be there to present a two-day class on Financial Management.

DEPO2015 is organized by the Centre for Creative Entrepreneurship. Following a successful pilot run from May to July 2015, the incubator is now ready to host more creative startups and young firms in the autumn session.  The workshops and lectures are designed for budding entrepreneurs to learn the basics of how to run a business and prepare a business plan.

And Sherrihan is not the only Prague College lecturer to be involved. Using her professional experience from educational institutions and creative businesses in the Czech Republic, Marie Silondi, coordinator of our Flexible Study Programme (see below), provides consultancy about DEPO2015's programme structure and delivery, including evaluating the sustainable development of the entire project.

A total of eight intensive courses will run from 10 October to 22 January 2016. Sherrihan's classes will take place on 30 and 31 October, and will cover a variety of topics including cost behaviour and revenue streams, the most common pricing methods, how to perform a break-even analysis, and the basics of financial statements and budgetting (with particular emphasis on cash budgets).
