An explorer’s experience of coping with ever-changing threats and opportunities.

Benedict Allen

This talk is the first event of Prague College‘s annual theme #FacingChange.

In his talk Benedict Allen will vividly describe some of the highs and lows of his life as an explorer, and how lessons from his experience might equip us in a changing and challenging world. As someone who has been through an initiation ceremony in Papua New Guinea to make him a “man as strong as a crocodile,” and the only person who has crossed the Amazon Basin at its widest, he is no stranger to challenges.

Benedict draws together some of the lessons he has learned from testing himself in extreme situations around the world. From being chased by Pablo Escobar’s hitmen, losing his dog team in the Arctic ice (in the Russian Far East) to being robbed and left to die in the Brazilian Rain Forest.
