by Larissa Petryca, on 29 October 2021 10:46:10 CEST

From November 2 to 7 PCU partner Prague Fringe will hold an Autumn festival. The festival will feature local and international theatre shows in English. This is a must-see if you have an interest in the performing arts.

Bringing the best to Prague

After an eighteen month hiatus from live theatre the Fringe is back and celebrating 20 years of live performances in Prague. There will be 9 shows over 6 days in two Malá Strana venues: Studio Rubin at the Museum of Alchemists and Divadlo Inspirace.

The pandemic has led to isolation and limited free movement which has fuelled creativity across all sectors of the arts. This also gave Festival Director Steve Gove the chance to review new work on show reels and attend the Edinburgh Fringe to hand-pick the best local and international acts for Prague.

Festival Highlights

Audiences can look forward to a special selection of shows including the multi-award winning Swan Woman from Sweden and the Sensemaker by Swiss Theatre company Woman’s Move. Acclaimed English actor Pip Utton will portray prominent British political characters Margaret Thatcher and Winston Churchill. There will also be physical, traditional and comedic theatre and puppet shows from the Czech Republic, Scotland, Spain, Ireland, Russia and Germany.

Fringe Founder and Director Steve Gove says “Nothing is quite the same as a ‘real’ Fringe, with the buzz of live performances and audiences together in one venue. We’re delighted to be back doing what we do best - bringing high-quality English-language theatre to Prague.”
