As well as informing our students, the workshop generated high attendance from the public. Michael Gimenez, a Prague College lecturer, presented two documentaries, 'The Invisibles', directed by Gael Garcia Bernal and Marc Silver, and "Protege-Me", directed by Aude Chevalier-Beaumel.
The first recorded the journey of hundreds of migrants from the border between Guatemala and Mexico on their way to the United States. The second documented the smuggling of people from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua into Mexico and from there to the United States. The screenings were followed by two presentations concerning migrants from Central America to the United States, from PhDr. Kryštof Kozák (Department of American Studies, Charles University) and Kristýna Andrlová (coordinator of the Group for International Affairs, Amnesty International)
