Four Prague College students will be 'Running for the School' in this year's Prague Marathon - help them achieve their goal!

On Sunday 11 May a team of four intrepid runners from Prague College, drawn from all years and schools, will be taking part in the 2014 Volkswagen Prague Marathon as part of the University Marathon relay.  Michal Kroca, Filip Laznicka, Andrey Kulkin, and Tomas Nguyen will each take turns to run at least 10km to raise money for the well-known Czech charity People in Need.

People in Need (Clovek v tisni) continually raises public awareness about the problems facing the developing world.  Ten years ago, PIN built a model school in the Ethiopian township of Alaba. The initiative had a major effect on local education. At the new school, class sizes were able to be reduced from the typical 100 per class to 30; and in addition, teachers were intensively trained in modern, pupil-centred teaching methods by Czech experts. Today, an astonishing seventeen schools have been built by PIN in Africa; and the organization is now raising funds for another school in Sorge, not far from Alaba.

To help build it, we are asking all Prague College friends and community to donate to our fantastic four  - you can do so by contacting any of them when they come to your class, or at the Polska reception desk.
