Kaciaryna Pikirenia: Turning a classic English Novel into a Belarusian Work of Art

by Larissa Petryca, on 26 November 2019 14:46:05 CET

Since graduating from Graphic Design in 2018, Kaciaryna has successfully managed to follow her passion for book design and translated literary works by working as a freelance book designer. She also currently teaches workshops to BA Fine Arts and Foundation in Art & Design students at Prague College.

Kaciaryna's most recent project is a Belarusian translation of the English comic novel 'Three Men in a Boat (to say nothing of the dog)' penned by Jerome K. Jerome in 1889, which describes three friend's colourful and at times profound river journey down the Thames.

The book features stunning hand cut typography and a minimal colour palette beautifully applied throughout the design along with 18 original linocut print illustrations accompanying the story.

Now completed, the project is in the stage of crowd funding to cover production and is very close to reaching it's target. If you would like to support Kaciaryna and help her achieve publication then please visit her crowd funding link here.
