'Post Anomic States' and 'Lighten the Darkness' showcase interactive media work of students

From 10 to 16 February, students in the Interactive Media program at Prague College’s School of Art & Design will present collections of their semestral work at Prague’s Fotograf Gallery at Skolska 28.The two, two-day-long exhibitions are the results of two complementary study courses wherein the students learn to manipulate the basics of contemporary technology, both content and implementational aspects of artistic creation and the demands of a subsequent presentation in an exhibition space.

Anomie is a state of “normlessness” and instability, felt in a society where existing rules, habits and beliefs no longer apply and alternatives have yet to be found, making common meanings no longer understood or accepted. Equally, darkness can be a scary thing, but it can also be something that encourages you to do things you wouldn’t do in the light. Darkness can also be perceived as ignorance or absence of emotion. The list goes on. You can attribute a wide range of meanings to darkness. The exhibition Lighten the Darkness touches on many of these meanings as each of the artists interprets their own meanings of darkness.
