Lecturers from School of Business give presentations at two events in Moravian capital

Prague College has been reaching out to audiences in Brno, the Czech Republic's second city. Last November, Bruce Gahir from the School of Business addressed the ever-important issue of the skills gap between education and employment at a two-day seminar in Brno organized by Industry Network partners ACCEE; at the same event, Alex Went from the Communications department spoke on the topic of Literature and Business.

More recently, our law lecturer, Paul Cooper, gave a presentation at Masaryk University. The conference, organized by the university's Language Centre, took place from 15 to 17 January 2015, and attracted some 250 participants from all over the world. His talk, entitled The Doctrine of Consideration in Common Law Contract Formation, was part of the International Conference on Languages Centres in Higher Education: Sharing Innovations, Research Methodology, and Best Practices. The presentation examined both law and linguistics, as well as teaching methodology.

As well as his work at Prague College, Paul acts as a consultant to the Legal English division of the Language Centre, which provides an innovative legal English programme to Law undergraduates at Masaryk University.
