Welcome to Cyberspace

Written by Alex Went | 06 October 2016 13:29:54 Z

As usual, our welcome party for new students on 7 October will include (along with fantastic food and refreshments) an exhibition of recent work by our students.

Cyberspaces is an interactive virtual reality installation which presents various 3D environments built by IT, Computing and Fine Art students with their lecturer Pascal Silondi during recent semesters, using contemporary 3D gaming technologies.

According to Pascal, 'Cyberspaces presents a digital journey into a net of interconnected virtual worlds where users can discover different architectures, aesthetics and atmospheres using the Oculus virtual reality headset to orient their viewpoint, and take part in a unique stereoscopic immersive experience.'

Visitors to the exhibition find and enter a number of teleports to jump into 3D environments including the "Virtual Palac Akropolis revival", by Pascal Silondi,

the Mediaval Temple by Emilio Herrera,

and the Abandoned Base by Mark Kangin,

as well as many other virtual environments by students involved in the project.
