BA (Hons) Creative Media Production

Find your own ‘unique voice’ and develop the ability to create positive change through innovative digital media content across a fast-developing range of platforms. This progressive Bachelor's programme is designed to meet the growing demand for media professionals who have a deep understanding of the digital landscape.

At its core is the combination of technical skills, creative thinking and social awareness with an emphasis on storytelling, giving you the confidence to graduate as a media specialist and practitioner in a wide variety of roles: from social media marketing to arts administration, and from video or radio production to journalism, scriptwriting or blogging.

Become an experienced storyteller with innovative, unconventional and complex narratives
Gain an in-depth understanding of the contemporary digital media landscape and how best to utilise it
Create content for a range of audiences and delivery platforms
Learn advanced technical skills allowing you to devise, develop, pitch and deliver ideas for new formats and platforms used for transmitting and receiving content
Spend a semester at our education partner EFAP School of Communication in France and receive a full semester of credits for your studies
Develop interpersonal skills, strengthening your ability to communicate confidently with professionals
Produce a professional portfolio that will demonstrate a high level of production skills as well as a ‘unique voice’
Work closely with industry practitioners and mentors, constantly reflecting and adapting to the current media marketplace

Maia Horniak is the Programme Leader and has over 15 years of professional industry experience having worked with renowned film production studios and companies including Stillking (Prague), Universal, Miramax and MTV. Maia is also an internationally acclaimed director of film and TV documentaries and has an MA in film directing from the renowned Australian Film, Television & Radio School (AFTRS). Maia was one of the youngest filmmakers to be accepted into the world’s most reputable film school - FAMU, here in Prague. She also has degrees in Fine Arts and Media Arts from the University of New South Wales and Copenhagen's Royal Art Academy.

Entry Requirements

Confirmation of completed High School Education with an appropriate grade profile (assessed individually). Students with experience or equivalent education in some subjects of the programme may be granted advance credit towards year one or year two of the programme after competing the required assessment of Prior Learning or Experience documentation.
English language certificate. Required Scores: IELTS 5.5; TOEFL iBT 60+; FCE (A) Other certificates may be accepted.

For all programmes at Prague City University, there is a final interview between the applicant and the Programme Leader before the final decision on admission is made.
