I work at T-Mobile Czech Republic as a Product Manager in the field of Cyber Security. I am responsible for products like DDoS and Web Application Firewall. I also am a project lead for an international project called SSE/SASE. This will be deployed within all Natcos in Europe, therefore my job is about negotiating and working with different B2B markets within our Deutsche Telekom group. It is a huge responsibility but also a great learning experience.
After graduating from PCU, I decided to study for my Master’s in Applied Cybersecurity through Teesside University to deepen my knowledge and specialise in this field.
My journey started in Denmark where I moved to pursue my BA in Marketing Management, however, I could not finish the whole degree, as the Danish government decided to close most of the English-taught programmes and Marketing was one of them. Therefore. I was looking for a university with an international environment where I could finish my degree. PCU was a clear choice after just a few minutes of talking on the phone with PCU admissions. I knew I wanted to continue with a more generally business oriented degree, so I chose to study BA (Hons) International Management.
Greatly - I believe that the reason I was able to fast-track my career is thanks to what I learned at PCU. During my studies I worked at a few companies as a trainee and when I finished my degree, I was promoted from trainee to Product Manager. PCU changed the way I think and work with data, and it gave me the confidence and tools to be able to carry the responsibilities that I now have.
What I learned during my studies at PCU, I now apply mainly when leading a large international projects for the development of new products. Without this knowledge, I probably wouldn't have dared to take on projects of this scale with such little work experience.
My previous studies in Denmark were, in my opinion, not academically rigorous enough. At PCU, I got a reality check, but I quickly bounced back and caught up on what was needed. Thanks to the helpful and understanding lecturers at the School of Business, I made significant progress both academically, professionally, and personally.
I believe that a BA in business is an absolute must for a good future career. I personally cannot imagine working without this foundation - the specifications of various industries can be learned over time, but for a really good understanding of how business works, and for a broad perspective, a bachelor's degree in business is essential in my opinion. The work and effort that must be put into this degree is really worth it, I benefit from it every single day!
