Prague City University is a proud sponsor of the Mexican Prague Iberoamerican Film Festival (MPIFF) taking place on 9 - 11 September at Instituto Cervantes and Kino Světozor. The festival also crosses into one of Prague’s largest street parties, La Calle Mexicana which will take place on Saturday in Vinohrady.
This Free, 3 day festival will feature eight films and documentaries from across the Iberian and Latin American regions that showcase a new cinematic vision. The festival will also include lectures and a rich entertainment programme.
As part of the festival Prague City University will run a free 75 minute Masterclass from 4pm till 5.15pm on 9 September at the Instituto Cervantes at 16.00. Dr Masa Hilcisin, Principal Lecturer from the Creative Media Production programme will present a Masterclass discussion on Ethics in documentary film making.
The 3 day festival will be video and photo documented by students from the Creative Media Production programme in collaboration with festival organisers. Student footage and photography will be edited and distributed through the festival’s promotional channels. This is hands-on experience for students who can take what they’ve learnt in the classroom and apply to a real-life event.
The festival ends on Saturday evening with a final film screening and a VIP closing party at Kino Světozor. During the day the festival will cross over with one of Prague’s largest street parties, La Calle Mexicana in Vinohrady, part of Prague’s Zažít Americkou jinak 2021 activities. An event not to miss!
