prof. Ing. Mgr. Pavel Marek

Associate Lecturer

Pavel lectures for the Creative Media Production programme. Born in India, he later graduated from the Czech Technical University in Prague in 1988. Two years prior, in 1986, he co-founded the independent film company Bulshitfilm with Roman Včelák. In 1992 he received a scholarship to the National Film and Television School in London. He then graduated from FAMU in 1998.

In addition to a number of documentary films, his filmography includes many award-winning short films.

Films & Awards

1998: Dead Beetle, Feature film. IFF Rotterdam - Critics' Prize of the Volkskrant newspaper, IMF Sochi - Special Jury Prize, Terlice Film Summer - Main Prize and Audience Award, Main Prize at the International Film Festival in Avance, Portugal.

1992: Harvest, Short film. Audience Award at the FAMU Festival, 1st prize at the UNICA Festival in Baden-Baden in 1991. Prize at the Interfilm Festival in Berlin 1995.

1989 Educator to Fear, Short film. 1st prize in the National Competition of Amateur Films, Gold Medal at the Young Camera Festival Uničov and 1st prize at the UNICA Festival in Baden-Baden in 1991.
