School of Art, Design & Media

At the School of Art, Design & Media you’re encouraged to explore, reimagine and combine traditional and emerging technologies in an inclusive community that values self-expression. Outside of classes you’ll take part in workshops, student exhibitions, film screenings, industry projects and our Visiting Artist and Lecture Series. With a personal and supportive approach to teaching, along with a range of creative spaces, we are here to inspire your creative journey.

Programmes

Beyond the Classroom

Our Visiting Artist and Lecture Series (VALS) profiles speakers who creative industry specialists, each having made a unique contribution to his or her field. VALS is where students meet and learn from working artists, designers, philosophers, film makers, curators, exhibition project managers, gallery directors and art historians.

We take advantage of our central location and expose students to the finest contemporary and old master art in Europe. Frequent visits to galleries and studios both within the Czech Republic and internationally — such as the Venice Biennale — further enrich their educational experience.

Held every semester, Workshop Week, gives our students the opportunity to collaborate with external specialists who introduce them to a range of new media and techniques that they can later apply to their artistic work.

Exhibitions Week is held at the end of Spring and showcases graduates from all programmes who present their final work in a series of public exhibitions and film screenings.
