Welcome Days

Our Welcome Days offer new students the opportunity to connect with the PCU community, including our staff, lecturers, and fellow students. It's a fantastic way to become acquainted with both the university and the vibrant city of Prague. Throughout the week, our staff and current students are available to provide valuable information about Prague, offer advice on navigating the city, assist with any challenges, and to help you settle into your new surroundings.
 
Below is a guide as to what you can expect when you attend Welcome Days, plus a few important links and information that will help you prepare for your studies with us. 

Welcome Activities

Orientation Day

Orientation Day is your big welcome to PCU! This is an exciting day that allows you to meet new friends, learn about the university, and explore the neighbourhoods around the campuses. You will learn more about the PCU Wellbeing programme and resources which will be available to you throughout your studies. Furthermore, you will be introduced to PCU Student Council, societies and other ways to get involved in the PCU community. The full programme and additional information will be sent to new students via e-mail, so lookout for the links and instructions!

Academic Programme Induction

The Academic Programme Induction provides you with detailed information on the courses that you will be taking, the grading system, the expectations from lecturers, materials that are needed and much more. This is also the time to meet your Programme Leader again, and in some cases some of your lecturers, as well as fellow classmates! Each programme's induction will take place at different times and places depending on the format of your specific programme. 

Welcome Friday

Welcome Friday is tailored primarily for international students. You will be able to get a taste of the Czech language and culture as well as learn a few tips and tricks to help you get settled in Prague and Czech Republic. After the presentations, you will be able to enjoy some refreshments and further hang out with other new students.

Important! It is highly recommended that all new students attend the Welcome Activities as these sessions provide you with all of the information and resources that you'll need to make your transition to PCU and Prague as easy as possible.
