Prague City University serves its academic community of students, lecturers, researchers and alumni. Leadership & Shared Governance
The President and Executive Chairman is ultimately responsible for all aspects of the university, working in cooperation with the Rector, who is broadly responsible for academic quality and content, the Pro-Rector, who is responsible for teaching, research and engagement, and with the Executive Director, who is responsible for the economic and administrative functioning of the university on behalf of our academic community.

Academic Leadership
The Academic Council Executive, composed of the Deans of our three Schools along with the President, Rector, Pro-Rector and Executive Director, is at the heart of building and delivering our academic strategy and goals on a day-to-day basis and in the longer term. The larger Academic Council includes the Executive at its core, along with faculty members representing all of our subject areas, as well as independent members who bring their outside perspective to developing the quality and content of our academic portfolio.

Office of the Rector
Supporting the mission and responsibilities of the Rector, and Pro-Rector, the Office coordinates accreditation, validation and quality assurance of our programmes, as well as coordinating and delivering on our statutory responsibilities to our British and Czech university regulatory bodies, and to the external agencies and organisations supporting our research and other faculty, student and industry engagement activities.

Centre for Research and Interdisciplinary Studies (CRIS)
The primary driver of institutionally-led research across the university, CRIS initiates projects, events, publications and research activities within and across our Schools, while also supporting initiatives brought forward by our individual faculty members and researchers. Members of CRIS include all Research Leads, who are also individually responsible for ensuring the development of institutional and individual research activities relevant for the programmes and people within their respective Schools, and in cooperation with their Deans and faculty colleagues. Members of CRIS are primarily research-active lecturers from across the four PCU Schools.

International Office

University Board
With a supervisory, advisory and support mandate, the University Board is composed of members who know the university well and can contribute to strengthening and developing our longer term vision and strategic plan. Look for the addition of several independent board members 2024.
Executive Chair | Douglas Hajek, MBA — As co-founder and first President of the university, Douglas is Executive Chairman of the Board and President of PCU. With a long career in international education and an MBA in Higher Education Management from UCL (London), he is responsible for the long-term vision and strategy of PCU and leads the co-governance model of leadership that underpins academic and administrative operations. |
Board Member | Mgr. Natasa Babic, PgDip — As co-founder of PCU, Natasa serves as a Board member responsible for oversight and development of the university. WIth her professional background and career in print and broadcast media, her Master’s degree in economics and politics, and her postgraduate diploma in library information sciences, she advises and supports university strategy and operations in these areas. |
Board Member | Mark Huntington — For more than a decade Mark has brought his wide experience in international education, and particularly his work advancing student choice of university destinations across Europe, to underpin his board member role offering advice and support to PCU. He is currently spearheading our initiative with the Council of Independent Schools to help promote global cooperation among secondary schools and universities. |
