Graduate Exhibitions 2023
Below are the exhibition details, web links and photo galleries for each event.
MA Future Design:
Where are you going? Where have you been?

Join us for an exhibition where the past and future will collide. “Where Are You Going? Where Have You Been?” alludes to the convergence of past and future, which raises the urgency of designing for the present. It investigates the significance of honoring where we come from as individuals and questions the direction of where we’re headed as a society that is increasingly shaped by technology.
The works showcased are from MA Future Design graduating students. Niky will bring to to light Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage and traditions that often get lost through the passage of generations, while Ruth co-creates alternative futures using artificial intelligence and questions how it will will impact humanity.
Ultimately, the works invite you to reflect on your own journeys and prepare you for what lies ahead — where are you going and where have you been?

Survive & Be Fruitful
2-4 June 2023
Venue: Bishop's Court Campus, Biskupský Dvůr 923/34a, Prague 1

Biological organisms share two common goals: survive and reproduce. As the past few centuries have seen unprecedented growth in the human population and improved chances of survival for the individual, humans have reached several specimens with needs that the ecosphere can no longer provide for. Upon entering the Anthropocene, we realize that we have transformed our environment to support survival and reproduction rates in the short term. But to ensure the species’ long-term survival, we must change our attitude and behaviour patterns too. By approaching contemporary reproduction practices with an analytic mindset, we can identify outdated customs of social traditions, and overcome them by conscious decision-making.
The vernissage opens at 17.00 along with the BA (Hons) Graphic Design graduates exhibition downstairs.

Reflective Fragments
9 June 2023
Venue: City Centre Campus, Hybernská 24, Prague 1

This has passed through us, a fragment of arable land carried by each of us, a fertile reflection. This is laid by us, looked at by you, deprived, sublimated by you and you who lay your eyes on them, irritates us, shakes us, frees us from us.
Take these reflective fragments of us and make them into a responsive whole.
Chimera is an error, an anomaly but that is living in Concorde with its state. A lesson to learn from the Self-hatred we shouldn’t put upon ourselves. Cause even if it shouldn’t be, it is. An aggregate which, in its specificity, makes sense and inescapably brings us back to the fantastic, the myth and the dream, pushing the balance in a union of natural, predatory forces as if to scare us, to sublimate us?
The exhibition will open at 5pm and will be accompanied by DJ L’Hermite (Foundation student Victor) and DJ Rigo (Fine Art Experimental Media student) on the terrace next to the FADM classroom.
