Paul DeLave

Principal Lecturer
School of Art & Design

Paul teaches design history, with a focus on the political, technological, and aesthetic influences which have helped shape design, especially in the 20thand 21st centuries. He also organizes and acts as an advisor on the 3rd year BA Graphic Design dissertation module, helping students to ideate, research and organize their final written thesis in the final semester.

He has been teaching in the Czech English-language higher education world for the last ten years, both at Prague City University and at the Architectural Institute in Prague.

Paul received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Notre Dame in the USA and worked as a registered architect in Chicago, Raleigh, Washington, DC and San Diego before locating to Prague.

Paul has worked as a sole proprietor for firms, and as a free-lance professional.  His primary interest is in sustainable design, and how this is manifested by use of responsible urban planning and the integration of buildings within a dense, community-minded framework.
