Computing & IT Mini Conference keeps students up to date on the latest global trends in IT.
Creative Media Production graduate screenings are held annually in one of Prague's art cinemas, more recently at Bio Oko and previously, Kino Pilotu. The students organize, promote and host this public film event to showcase their final projects.
Web Design and Development tutorial. Students receive individual attention and support from lecturers.
Girls on Code workshop. Project work with fellow students develops your ability to work in a team and recognize the unique skills that you bring.
Programmes encourage exploration, creative thinking and teamwork to discover solutions for complex tasks.
Public Seminar on Dialogue. Such classes allow students to consider, on a deeper level, questions such as how our perception of space has changed with the advent of mapping and navigation technology.
The School of Media & IT invite you to a special conference featuring a rich programme of special guest lectures and topics, workshops and film screenings relating to the university's annual theme, Media, Post-Truth Reality.
PCU is honoured to have Christine Leunens as a guest lecturer for our Media Innovation Technology Series. Christine has emerged as of the great storytellers with two of her four novels having been adapted to film by leading Hollywood players. Taika Waititi, Director of Academy-award-winning film Jojo Rabbit and Mimi Polk Gitlin, the producer of Academy Award-winning film Thelma & Louise.
In September, Dr Bettaz Programme Leader for Computing gave the keynote address at Amity Institute of Information Technology’s International Conference on Reliability, Infocom Technologies & Optimization (ICRITO).
Dr Bettaz’ keynote address was based on joint work undertaken with Mourad Maouche. The pair investigated software engineering difficulties in producing consistent rigorous specifications that adequately reflect users’ requirements for complex systems.
Originally from the Republic of Kosovo, Rajmond chose PCU to deepen his IT knowledge and to earn a British-accredited qualification; he has now successfully achieved his Master's in Computing. During his time at PCU, Rajmond, together with fellow students, worked on the Underground City XXI Project, programming and constructing a multi-user platform with the use of game engines. This practice-based project enabled him to test his core specializations and fully prepare him for professional scenarios. Raymond currently works as Lead Engineer for EmbedIT, a software company that creates and develops financial verification, management and payment tracking systems for business.
Originally from Australia, Nikoleta changed her plans to study architecture in her homeland for a computing degree in Prague. After completing her studies she credited the Computing programme for providing her with knowledge and a deep understanding of the underlying principles of IT. In addition, she praises the international environment for helping her develop cross-cultural skills, and for the opportunity to work on international projects. After graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Computing, she worked with fellow PCU computing graduate, Michael Kuk, who started his own tech company, Binario. She began as a Developer and now is the company's Head Product Manager. Nikoleta’s talents lie on the business side of IT. She designs business processes and functions for systems and apps, after which the developer team take over and build based on her specifications. To fortify her business skills, she has recently completed her Master’s in International Management at PCU’s School of Business.
Petr Roudensky graduated with distinction from PCU’s MSc Computing programme and in addition won the prestigious Dean’s Award from Teesside University, our academic partner in the UK. His project was deemed outstanding work scoring the highest academic record according to Teesside University's School of Computing. Petr has gone on to share his knowledge and is the author of three books on computing including ‘Kvalita softwaru: teorie a praxe’ (Quality of software in theory and practice).
