For this special lecture in the module Aspects of Contracts & Negligence for Business, we are pleased to welcome Sylva Švejdarová to Prague College as our guest lecturer.

Ms Švejdarová is currently completing a PhD in Law and English linguistics at Lancaster University. Previously, she studied Law at Charles University, International Relations at the University of Nottingham, and English Linguistics at Charles University.

On this occasion, she will be talking about terms in contracts, particularly about their meanings and effects. She will introduce the concepts of express and implied terms, ancillary agreements or clauses, and unfair terms. Finally, she will elaborate on international and European 'soft law' codes and how these differ from English law.
