MSc Computing graduate Petr Roudensky continues doctoral research in the UK

Petr Roudenský, an alum of PCU, is currently pursuing his PhD at The University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom, where he is conducting further research on neurodegenerative diseases, in particular Huntington's Disease.

Petr completed his MSc Computing at PCU in 2014 with distinction and produced a highly successful Master's thesis for which he received the Dean’s Award from Teesside University, UK, marking his project as outstanding work in the estimation of Teesside’s School of Computing. His thesis was on the development of his own innovative software and hardware to help patients suffering from neurodegenerative diseases to communicate with their friends, families and carers.

Building on his interest Petr has continued his academic journey in the United Kingdom, and has been researching genetic factors that affect the age of onset of Huntington’s Disease as well as the markers of its prediction.
