Blockchain Coming to Prague College

by Matthew Butler, on 15 January 2019 00:00:00 CET

Wednesday 16 January 2019 | 6pm | Prague College | Blanicka 001

As we welcome in the New Year, the Hyperledger Prague meet-up group comes to Prague College.

Known foremost as the secure trading infrastructure behind Bitcoin, Blockchain has the potential to greatly simplify and speed up transactions in eCommerce and regular commerce, healthcare records, logistics, and finance. Additionally, more secure sharing of information can help address media problems with #FakeNews, spam problems in social media, and hacking problems in online voting.

The Linux Foundation along with various corporate players have sponsored a Blockchain ecosystem called Hyperledger for developing and deploying infrastructure, applications, and specialized tools needed for effective, robust Blockchain use in real life. Prague College is pleased to host the Hyperledger Prague Meetup, formerly held at CA Technologies, and will hold its first primarily organizational meeting Wednesday 16 January evening 6pm to bring together the Prague community and decide on the directions the group will go in. Questions to address include the business use vs. IT considerations, lectures vs. hands-on work (hackathons and assists), focus on specific use areas, interaction & resources from the greater community, and how to best use a network of professionals and students (hopefully including you) to ride this interesting wave.

You can register for the event at https://www.meetup.com/Hyperledger-Prague/events/257372531/
and find out more about the Hyperledger project at the www.hyperledger.org homepage.

We hope to see you there.
