Last month CIMA held their annual University Management Accounting Day (UMAD) online and had over 200 students join from Europe and further abroad to hear lectures and participate in the CIMA Business Game, an interactive online competition between students from participating universities, including Prague College, who won third place in the competition.

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) organises this event especially for undergraduate and postgraduate students of finance, management and accounting and brings them together with lecturers, CIMA employees and employers.

Students heard a lecture on management accounting titled "Human Signals in a Digital World" and then participated in the CIMA Business Game.

We are very pleased to announce that Prague College students won third place in the competition. First place went to the Warsaw School of Economics and second place to the University of Economics in Katowice.

Alric_FerraoPrague College also announced a new CIMA Ambassador,
Alric Ferrao, currently a second year BA (Hons) International Finance and Business Accounting student.

Alric reports that UMAD was 'a great learning experience and
an insightful meeting'. When participating in the CIMA business game, Alric and his fellow Prague College students were placed in several different scenarios where they had to make
important decisions as Management accountants.

With over 228,000 members and students in 179 countries, CIMA is the leading organisation for bringing together
specialists and experts in management accounting.
CIMA qualifications provide students with upskilling opportunities: how to transform data into knowledge and strategy, interpersonal skills for negotiation and collaboration, leadership and technical expertise - all while observing ethics, integrity and professionalism.

The syllabus adapts to the latest trends in finance. This allows CIMA members and students to develop their digital skills. The curriculum extends to include digital costing, cybersecurity, data analytics, data visualisation and data strategy.
