by Larissa Petryca, on 06 May 2024 15:37:47 CEST

On Friday, April 12th, first-year students from the International Management and International Finance and Business Accounting programmes had the unique opportunity to experience a day at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW). Executives from URW, a professional partner of PCU, arranged an exclusive day of activities for the students so they could experience first-hand the operations behind a major organisation.

Marketing, Operations & Commercial Real Estate

As part of their Business Project Management class students with a keen interest in marketing, commerce and real estate benefited enormously from spending the morning at URW Chodov. There they delved into the dynamic world of shopping centre management and learnt not only how marketing and brand events are run at these venues, but also about the commercial real estate industry through the lens of URW’s experience.

During the visit, they were able to interact with representatives of URW and learnt about the company’s strategy, its operations, and career prospects. Additionally, they had the opportunity to explore various brand activation booths located in the heart of the busy Westfield Chodov shopping centre. This visit was intentionally scheduled during Marianne Days week, allowing students to gain deeper insights into the creative process and business motivations behind such events.

Day at a Company

This excursion is part of the new initiative undertaken by the School of Business named “Day at a Company” and was launched in this academic year. A Day at a Company’s main purpose is to enrich a student’s experience and theoretical knowledge by providing practical insights from the world of business, allowing them to expand their learning and professional network. In the next academic year, the initiative will grow to include second and third year students in the School of Business Bachelor’s programmes. It will also cover a wider range of professional skills outside of marketing and brand management.
