On Saturday, October 12th, we celebrated our most spectacular graduation yet, marking a remarkable milestone—20 years of our university's inspiring journey!

Spectacular Surroundings

For the first time, the event took place in the stunning Smetana Hall at Obecní dům (Municipal House), one of Prague’s most iconic venues and only steps away from our City Centre Campus. The hall was full of energy as graduates, their families, friends, and lecturers gathered to celebrate this huge milestone.

With 155 diplomas and degrees awarded, Smetana Hall filled with excitement, an unforgettable moment for everyone, symbolising the end of years of hard work and the start of new adventures.

Dr. Laura Sillers, Dean of Culture and Creativity, presented our British-accredited diplomas on behalf of our strategic parnter, Teesside University. She was joined by her colleagues: Professor Chrisina Jane, Dean of the School of Computing, Engineering, and Digital Technologies; George Hunt, Director of International Development and Natalie Clark, Deputy Director of Transnational Education Partnerships (Department for International Development).

Additionally, representatives from our educational partner, ETIC Algarve, attended the ceremony to celebrate the graduation of three of their students who received their Bachelor’s degrees. This included Nuno Ribeiro, Director of ETIC, along with Virgínia Inácio from the International Department and Cláudia Fernandes from the Communication Department, which made the event even more special.

Anastasia Kirillova, a graduate from BA (Hons) Graphic Design, and Michael Zats, a graduate from MSc Computing, delivered inspiring valedictorian speeches at the ceremony. Their heartfelt addresses celebrated the achievements of their fellow graduates and reflected on the challenges they overcame during their studies.

School of Education issues first diplomas

This year marked a significant milestone with the inaugural graduating class from PCU’s School of Education. Eleven students, who completed their entire degree programme with us received their degrees, three of whom graduated with distinction.

Overall, it was a day full of memories, marking a major chapter in the lives of our graduates and their families. We send our very best wishes to each of our graduates as they embark on their careers or apply their newly acquired knowledge to advance in their fields, making an impact across the globe.
