PCU Graduation Ceremony 2021

On Saturday 13 November, graduates, their families and friends traveled to Prague and met at the National House in Vinohrady to celebrate the successful completion of studies.

PCU was thrilled to be able to hold a full graduation ceremony after last year’s scaled back event. In addition, the university was honoured to have in attendance the Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive of Teesside University, Professor Paul Croney who awarded Master’s and Bachelor’s students their degrees, alongside PCU President Douglas Hajek.

The Graduates

Graduating on Saturday were 168 students, 95 of whom made it to the ceremony. In addition to Master’s and Bachelor’s graduates were Foundation Diploma and Higher National Diploma graduates.

Bc. Specialized Education

For the first time in PCU’s history, twenty one graduates received their Bc. Specialized Education degree from the Dean of the School of Education, Zdeněk Starý. The graduates had completed their studies with Akcent College and were excited to meet again and finally receive their Czech-accredited degree.

Valedictory Address and Academic Awards

The valedictory addresses were given by Emil Nakov from the BA (Hons) International Management programme and Barbora Stejskalová representing Bc. Specialized Education.

Awards for academic excellence were presented to Adriana Mendez and Vanesa Váchová for BA (Hons) Graphic Design, Matěj Petráček for BA (Hons) International Management, Lukáš Milka and Martin Kräussl for Bc. Specialised Education, Htun Lynn Zaw for BA (Hons) Creative Media Production, Sulieman Al Rustom for BSc (Hons) Computing and Tatiana Eliašova for MSc International Management.

Special Guests

Teesside University guests who made the journey to Prague alongside the Vice Chancellor included Professor Mark Simpson, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching), George Hunt, Director of International Development and Warren Harrison, Dean of Teesside University International Business School.

Teesside University and PCU Senior Management

In addition, a delegation from our education partner school ETIC_Algarve, traveled from Portugal to support former student Jann Hawker who received his BA (Hons) Graphic Design degree. The group included Director Nuno Ribeiro and Virgínia Inácio who is responsible for Erasmus and Professional Integration.

Graduate and Alumni Social

In the evening, the newly minted graduates, PCU alumni and lecturers met at Meat Beer for an informal catch up.
