by Alex Went, on 13 November 2017 14:57:11 CET

On 1 December 2017, Prague College presented a day-long conference entitled 'Setting New Standards in Accountancy'. The purpose of the event was to bring to public attention recent developments in areas of ethics in accountancy and corporate governance. Prague College has recently been awarded Silver Learning Status by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. During the second half of the conference, Mr Douglas Hajek, director of Prague College, received the ACCA certificate from Petra Polednova, Business Development Manager, ACCA Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.

The conference — which took place in the historic premises occupied by the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce and global mineral water company Mattoni — was addressed by Veronika Melasová of Grafton Recruitment, and Dr Stefano Cavagnetto and Bruce Gahir of Prague College's School of Business.

It was also an opportunity to learn more about membership of professional institutions including the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and CIMA (the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants).
