Prague College students to enjoy full Czech student status from 2016

by Alex Went, on 01 June 2016 00:00:00 CEST

From the beginning of the 2016/17 academic year, foreign-accredited universities operating in the Czech Republic will be formally recognized by the Czech Ministry of Education.

The changes have come about thanks to a 2016 amendment to the existing University law. The changes will be automatic for EU-based institutions, while those outside the EU will have to apply for permission.

The new law has a number of important consequences for Prague College. Most importantly,  from September, our students on Teesside University programmes will enjoy the many benefits of Czech student status.

Studying at Prague College now includes:

  • Accreditation and delivery under a collaborative agreement between Prague College and the UK’s Teesside University

  • Accreditation and quality assurance by the same institutions and to the same standards as in the United Kingdom

  • Teesside University degrees awarded: fully recognized British degrees

  • Prague College recognized as offering foreign-accredited university programmes under the 2016 Czech law governing universities

  • EU students may be eligible for benefits from their home country while studying at Prague College, depending on their home country rules

  • All instruction in English
