BA (Hons) International Business Management
- An international British degree, delivered in English at Prague College
- Designed to meet the needs of companies in the Czech Republic and around the world for management-level employees
- A natural extension of our successful HND Business program, providing practical projects and direct contact with business leaders
- Flexibility to allow our students, many of whom are already employed by the second year of their studies, to complete this Bachelors degree while working
- Introducing the University of Teesside (UK) as our educational partner for awarding undergraduate degrees
Background
Prague has become a significant international business capital, with many global companies setting up regional headquarters and operations here, as well as many more local companies now finding success abroad.
Target
Our new International Business Management degree offers an innovative academic option for students, and a much-needed solution for employers looking for qualified people to fill management-level positions.
Experience
This BA builds on our experience delivering the HND Business program, where a highly practical approach to teaching brings students into direct contact with many companies and various business leaders. A key element to the Bachelors program is a Business Leaders seminar series that runs throughout the academic year.
Advantages
We decided to introduce a Bachelors in International Business Management, rather than a generic Business or Business Administration degree, as the International Business Management degree is more responsive to both the current strengths and future needs of the local and international labour markets.
Structure
Now our students can progress to the study of international business culture and management, contemporary perspectives in leadership and technological change, international finance, as well as strategic and change management. The program includes a dissertation or extended business research project, thus providing a strong academic foundation along with practical, real world and immediate application.
Format
Business students at Prague College now graduate with a Higher National Diploma after two years, and a Bachelors degree after three years. Students can choose a full three year Bachelors path immediately, or take the two year HND and come back for the final Bachelors year after some time in the workforce.
University of Teesside
The University of Teesside will be awarding the Bachelors degree taught at Prague College. The BA (Hons) International Business Management is the first and only British business degree to be taught in English in the Czech Republic. According to Dr Keith Brown, Director of International Development for the University of Teesside:
“We are keen to work with Prague College, as they have shown they can work to UK quality standards in delivering UK programmes. The International Business Management programme with Prague College is the first stage of what we hope to be a long term relationship. In time we plan to expand the number and level of programmes which we deliver in partnership with Prague College.”
Prague College is also setting up a Teesside Information Center at the college to provide advice and support for anyone looking to study at the University of Teesside. As Dr Brown explains:
“We would like to expand the delivery of our programmes in Europe and also to encourage students to come to Teesside to study – a blended approach which provides opportunities for all students. Some students may study for all of their degree at Prague College; some may study all in the UK and some will study in partly in their own country and partly at Teesside.”
