Prague College's MA Future Design first year students will be presenting a work in progress project on virtual empathy at online design-art festival Uroboros, which launches on 13 May and will run through until 16 May. The festival's theme is Designing in Troubling Times which is rather apt given the global situation.
The Festival program includes 4 days of online workshops, performances, LARPs, distributed salons, games, discussions, remote co-cookings & drinks(!), and other co-creative experiments initiated by art/design researchers and practitioners from across the globe. The festival focuses on design but is very relevant for those who have an interest in/or are studying Fine Arts.

The aim is to explore how we can design, and with what, during these difficult times and support positive change. The festival is accompanied by a physical exhibition within the #DATAMAZE curatorial section of DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague, which is expected to re-open on 27 May.

Prague College Lecturer Lenka Hamosova who teaches speculative design to our MA Future Design students is a co-founder and one of the main organizers of the festival and guided the students with their project. The project is titled Gravity Postcard: a nostalgic journey through virtual empathy and is a work in progress which seeks to initiate a speculative model of 'Virtual Empathy' by magnifying harmonious interdependence of humans and technology. More information about the project can be found here. Participants will be able to join the live work-in-progress project and watch it develop when the festival opens on 13 May.
The students will also be part of the Lightning Talks programme (Wed 16:00-19:00 CET), where they will introduce the project to the public during a 5 min presentation. The outcomes from this project will be published continuously on the student's Gravity Postcards Instagram page.
