Yoga & Meditation Workshop

In early December, Nelli and Filip from Student Services joined forces and combined their Yoga & Meditation classes into one powerful and positive evening workshop attended by students and staff of PCU.
Wellness Evening Programme
The programme started with a guided meditation session led by Filip. Filip is a trained practitioner and his session helped the group drop the stress and worries of the week. Group meditation is also known to bring an extra level of relaxation and peace.
This was the perfect entree into the yoga session with Nelli, a qualified yoga instructor. We started off with a warm up which focussed on our shoulders and core, areas that suffer from inactivity sitting and working on computers.
The pace picked up and moved into more challenging asanas ending with crow pose, a pose which requires students to start in a squat position and transition into a balance on their hands. This was attempted and achieved by some but for most of us it was a bit of fun as we crashed out onto our mats.
The class finished with the most important yoga pose, shavasana - corpse pose, which is the most relaxing and completely rejuvenating. Afterwards the group enjoyed Indian teas, fresh fruits and cookies.
Why do we champion Yoga & Meditation
Numerous scientific studies have shown yoga and meditation have many benefits. Some of the more obvious benefits are helping you focus, destress and helping you keep your body and mind healthy. It is Nelli & Filip’s wish to equip students and staff with their knowledge to assist them through each semester, the challenging winter season and the uncertainty of Covid.
How to join and what to bring
Meditation and Yoga classes are open to students, staff and alumni. Sessions are held in person at the Polska Campus or online. There are usually two yoga classes each week, to find out when classes are on please get in touch with Nelli here and for Meditation please get in touch with Filip here and join them in the new year!
Classes are free, so all you need is your yoga mat and comfortable clothes.
