Master’s degrees with opportunity

by Larissa Petryca, on 04 March 2022 17:52:04 CET

When you study for a Master’s degree at PCU you’ll experience so much more than what traditional institutions offers.

As a specialist university with small class sizes we have additional extras that enhance your learning experience outside of the classroom, introducing you to leading professionals and innovators in your field of study. By committing to the experience combined with a dedicated attitude you can take advantage of the opportunities that will move your career to the next level.

In Partnership with Businesses and Associations

At PCU we maintain a strong working relationship with local and international organisations and associations through our Industry Network. Lecturers learn first hand from business and creative networks about the issues affecting organisations and the wider community. Understanding change and organisational challenges helps them develop strong and relevant curriculum that will equip graduates with the skills necessary to thrive professionally.

Our Industry connections also give students the opportunity to learn from and network with executive level business leaders, renowned creatives and government representatives. In addition, we regularly field quality job offers and internships from our professional partners that are shared with talented students.

As a Master's student you will meet with key employers at PCU's Career Fair
Meet with industry representatives at our annual career fair

As a postgraduate student studying Business, Computing, Art or Design you’ll have regular opportunities to join and participate in:

  • seminars organised by the university and their partners
  • professional networking events with key chambers of commerce and associations
  • opportunities to exhibit in galleries, for example MA Fine Art student Saša Spačal had a solo exhibition of her graduate work at Prague City Gallery
  • visit exhibitions and attend creative workshops
  • PCU’s annual career fair
  • opportunities to join professional working committees organised by partner associations on global issues such as sustainability and climate change
  • internship or workplace offers including virtual internships
As part of my Master’s in Future Design I worked a remote internship with AI motion graphics studio Seyhan Lee in Boston, USA which I undertook from Prague and my hometown in the Netherlands. At the end of my internship I was offered a paid position.

PCU Lecture Series and Conferences

PCU’s Speaker Series are offered across all Schools; the Master Speaker Series, Visiting Artists Lecture Series, Media Innovation Technology Series and the Excellence in Learning and Teaching Series. Every semester students are introduced to outstanding local and international experts from organisations and academia who share first-hand research and real-world scenarios from their particular field.

Lectures are specifically designed to support key concepts encountered in programme modules. In addition, you have the opportunity to engage with these guests who can offer inspiration and motivation for detailed study or for future career direction.
