Media Innovation & Technology Series

MITS events introduce and explore the evolving media ecosystem, with a focus on technical trends, opportunities and challenges. Our visiting speakers — drawn from the media and information industries — are expert practioners who understand the need to innovate and create true social change.

Recent speakers have included:

• Mika Jonson, a multimedia artist who presented on the history of artistic mediums and the ways in which new technologies such as VR, AR, and immersive audio, can change the ways we tell stories.
  
  
• Karina Holden, an internationally-awarded film maker and television producer who has produced, created and directed content for major television networks for over twenty years. The main topic for discussion was how to hit on an idea that will resonate with an audience and how to turn that idea into an impactful story for different audiences and platforms

• Irena Taskovski, CEO & founder of Taskovski Films, a London-based worldwide sales & production company with offices across Europe. Irena is a film consultant, marketing, sales, financing and festival expert for many film institutions such as HBO Europe, TRT world, Asian Cinema Fund, Dok.incubator CZ and Sources Germany. She is Head Tutor at Emerging Producers – at Ji.hlava IDFF CZ and founder of a training program initiative 'art of creative producing and distribution' for the Film Academy for Conscious Creative leaders and film residencies.
