Follow Your Dreams with URW & PCU

by Larissa Petryca, on 19 October 2021 12:25:09 CEST

We are pleased to announce that Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) have partnered with PCU’s School of Business to create and deliver a business skills training programme.

URW Follow your Dreams project
Follow your dreams is URW’s initiative to help disadvantaged groups achieve employment

URW4jobs

URW is the premiere global developer and operator of the largest shopping centre group in the world. Every year through their Better Places 2030 initiative they organise the URW4jobs project. In the Czech Republic the vocational programme is promoted as Jdi za svým snem (follow your dreams). The programme is fully-funded by URW, allowing free training for people who wish to enter the job market, develop their employability skills and gain steady, long-term employment.

URW employment programme
The programme has been running in the Czech Republic for several years

Helping those seeking employment

School graduates, mothers on parental leave and people with disabilities are some groups that will find the programme beneficial. URW have unique insight from working closely with retail tenants to know that sales techniques and communication are the skills most often lacking in candidates.

With these key areas identified PCU has custom-developed a structured, practical programme to fully train and prepare participants for entry into the workforce. Key faculty from the School of Business will deliver the programme and course material in Czech to a maximum of 50 qualifying students. Students will study three professional development units:

  • Developing Communication & Negotiation Skills
  • Sales Techniques & Processes
  • Effective Customer Services & Retention
PCU has developed a programme that combines lectures and practical training exercises

Each unit requires a student presentation and an assessment from PCU’s School of Business lecturers. No exams are required. On successful completion of all three modules, participants will be awarded with a Vocational Diploma in Essential Business Skills from PCU.

Programme requirements

The programme is open to Czech speakers 18 years and above who are currently unemployed and wish to enter the job market. Registration is required at the programme website by November 5. Students will be selected after a short telephone interview with the course coordinator.

The programme kicks off on November 15 with classes taking place at PCU’s Polska Campus. It will conclude on December 13 with a graduation ceremony for graduates and their families.

Follow your dreams is for motivated students who would like to increase employment opportunities

Knowledge sharing with the wider community

It is a great opportunity and honour to partner with a global heavyweight in the retail industry like URW. Support of such a project allows PCU the chance to educate and pass on valuable knowledge and resources to a wider group of people. A contribution that delivers positively to the well-being of the community at large.

Do you know anyone who would like to follow their dreams into new job opportunities and may benefit from the programme? Then direct them to the Jdi za svým snem website which contains full details and registration.
