External Engagement
Engagement with events and festivals
Lunchmeat is an annual international festival dedicated to advanced electronic music and new media art based in Prague, Czech Republic. We have developed a long-term relationship between the students of BA and MA FIne Art and the festival. This has included students taking part in the international workshops on offer by Lunchmeat as part of the students’ coursework across the two programmes. It has also included having members of Lunchmeat deliver workshops to students in Fine Art.
PCU has been a long-term supporter of the Prague Fringe Festival, which despite its small size is one of the jewels in the world-wide Fringe Alliance. During this theatrical festival’s 20-year history, our students have written and produced plays, and one of our Graphic Design alumni, Alina Shupikova, is responsible for designing the Fringe identity and branding.
Graphic Design partnerships with studios and agencies
All students in year 2 of Graphic Design have their portfolios professionally reviewed by local and international Design firms working here in Prague. The agencies change regularly, but we have worked with Toman Design, DDB, Fallon, and are about to start with Kaspen VM.
We also actively seek out local and international Design firms working here in Prague to deliver projects within modules. While the modules are still overseen by PCU faculty, the projects are run by the external agencies and studios. Companies we have and currently work with include: DDB and Ematix.
