Jennifer DeFelice is an artist, musician, and educator focusing on performative practice, interpretation and improvisation.
Her approach ranges from performance, installation, and events through collaborative projects and workshop activities. She has worked as a graphic designer, a translator and interpreter.
Her current focus is in the field of art and technology programming and education. She is a co-founder of Vasulka Kitchen Brno, an association commemorating and developing the artistic and philosophical legacy of Woody and Steina Vašulka.
From 1993 she has been working as an assistant at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Brno University of Technology in the Video-Performance-Multimedia Studio (later the Performance Studio) and currently is part of the Department for Creative Activities and External Relations and an assistant in the Visiting Artist's Studio. She teaches the course Documents of Presence and Experience at the Theory of Interactive Media Department of Masaryk University. She was a visiting artist at the Social Design Department of the University of Applied Arts Vienna in 2017.
At Prague City University Jennifer teaches Ideas Generation: Conceptual Tendencies intended to assist young artists in navigating and defining the conceptual framework of their artistic practice and the seminar Understanding Historical, Cultural, Sociopolitical, and Curatorial Influences on Art Making focused on identifying with the role of the artist as an instrument for creative influence and change, and developing the ability to address complex sociopolitical issues through cultural events and activities.
