In September, the School of Education hosted the International English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) conference in Prague. This prestigious event united researchers, academics, and teachers from around the world where they discussed advancements in English language theory, teaching, and learning.
High school, language school, freelance English teachers and active educators participated in Teachers' Friday, a day of lectures and workshops focused on language use in the age of AI and ELF-informed pedagogy.

Last May, the 23rd annual Prague Fringe Festival premiered a dystopian play created by students from Prague City University, titled "Ants and Other Strong Things." Written by MA Fine Art student Raynar Rogers, the play set in the future, mirrored our current society, where conservative politics and digital surveillance increasingly threaten individual freedoms, particularly within the Queer community, whose rights are often and covertly eroded.
Iman Delic, a young Art Director at DDB Prague and a 2020 graduate of PCU, achieved official recognition in April when she was named Talent of the Year at Marketing & Media's (MAM) Agency of the Year awards. Known for her meticulous attention to detail, Iman approaches every project with thoughtful precision, demonstrating her passion for craftsmanship in all her work. Prague City University is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Stefano Cavagnetto as our inaugural Pro-Rector. With a distinguished academic career and extensive experience in higher education administration, Professor Cavagnetto brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the position.
As Pro-Rector, Professor Cavagnetto will oversee the strategic direction of the university's academic programmes, research initiatives, and community engagement efforts. His vision for enhancing educational quality and expanding global partnerships will continue to elevate Prague City University's reputation as a leading centre for higher education in Europe.
Students from the School of Business are working together with SAP on a collaborative project. The primary objective of the partnership is to explore ways to streamline routine tasks seamlessly using AI to enable people to concentrate on strategic choices, creativity, and customer-oriented projects.
